Message

What a good way to start our new season leading God's flock through Life Groups! We begin with our position in Jesus-that we are blessed in Him with Abrahamic blessings as stated in Genesis 12:2-3
"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

But these blessings come after the command to bless others also, As God said, "And all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." Truly, we are blessed to bless others. This reminds me of one amazing story in the Bible. In II Kings 7, there were four lepers who sat at the gate of Samaria at a time when the city was under siege and great famine happened. The worst thing one can imagine happened! The women were eating their own children to survive! But Prophet Elisha prophesied that the next day, food will be boundless in Samaria and will be sold at a very low price.

Meanwhile, the four lepers evaluated their desperate situation. In the remaining days of their lives, they had two options: First, if they stayed at the gate of Samaria, they would starve to death. Second, if they went over to the enemy camp, they may be killed but there was this hope that the enemy would take pity on them and give them some food. So they took their chances and went over to the enemy camp.

When they got there, they were surprised to find the camp evacuated. As the four lepes were approaching the camp, the Lord had caused the enemies to hear the sound of a great army of chariots and horses, So the enemies fled in a panic, leaving all of their supplies and belongings behind. The four beggars ate all that they could and even took away the enemies silver, gold and clothes.

But then, their conscience struck them. They said, “We’re not doing right. This is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent” (2 Kings 7:9). So they went and told the starving city where they could find a boundless supply of food.

In Zechariah 8:13, God said, “I will save you that you may become a blessing.” Truly, God’s people are blessed to bless others. God pours out His boundless grace on us so that we can share it to others who have no hope in life.

Come on, let's begin to B.L.E.S.S. others today!
