Acts 16:25-34 > The Jailer's Household was Saved
Discuss
- Who are the characters of the story?
- Describe the situation of Paul and Silas while in prison.
- Have you seen people imprisoned? Did they have joy? Why do you think Paul and Silas were still singing praises to God?
- What happened after Paul and Silas praised God?
- Another person was the jailer. Why did he want to kill himself when he discovered the prison door open?
- What did the jailer do to prove his desire to be saved? Based on verses 32 to 35, describe how the jailer pursued Paul and Silas.
Personal Application
- The jailer asked Paul and Silas: "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" If you were the jailer, will you ask the same question?
- Paul and Silas replied to the jailer: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your household." How would you feel if you received this message?
- Do you want to be like the jailer - bringing your household to salvation?
- How much do you want to pursue the disciples?
- How do you want to see yourself together with your whole household to go to baptism to become full-pledged disciples of Jesus?
Change requires action. Salvation happens when we make it happen in our lives and in our homes. Would you be willing to join the Pre-encounter Party and Encounter Weekend?
